What we offer
Electronic Banking. Principal Bank began operations in February 1998 as an FDIC-insured federal savings bank. The bank offers its customers traditional banking products, including checking, savings, money market demand and certificates of deposit via the telephone, Internet, ATM, or by mail. Additionally, VISA credit cards and various consumer loan products are offered by the bank, including automobile, home equity and personal loans.

Group Retirement and Employee Benefits. We've been in the group insurance and pension business since 1941. We provide group life and health benefits to nearly 92,000 employer clients and pension plans for more than 43,000 employer sponsors. And we provide administration services for more 401(k) plans than any other bank, mutual fund, or insurance company in the U.S.

Individual Life Products. We administer more than 717,000 individual life insurance, annuity and disability income policies.

International Services. Committed to serving the financial needs of customers around the world, we offer a variety of products and services in Asia, Australia, Europe, Latin America and U.S. And, as a member of an international network of insurance companies known as the Multinational Insurance Arrangement (MIA), we serve multinational group, pension and employee benefit customers.

Mutual Funds. Our broker dealer company, Princor Financial Services Corporation, has been offering mutual funds to customers since 1968. Currently, more than 521,000 shareholders are using Principal Mutual Funds to save for retirement, college funding or a better lifestyle.
